mucky waters

Houses throughout this countryside display clotheslines (many people still use these here!) from which hang last weeks laundry, ever waiting to get fully dry. The storms have been sudden and frequent, the lightning low and abundant. In the picture looking down our road, there is missing a third maple tree along the right side (a stone's throw from our front door) that was struck and destroyed by lightning three weeks before our arrival. Our lightning shows have just begun....

And the girls can hardly keep themselves from the puddles left behind. The closest thing we have to a kiddy pool.
